Also worth checking the likely shading in winter and summer - the differences on my system are significant.

johnxgoodall  have you got a photo of your roof(s) ?  or did you try to play around  with the Sunny Design software from SMA ?

It tells me   4 strings on the 2 MPPT Trackers of a Sunny boy 4000 TL   with 5 panels (215 watt ) per string , will work  fine ( but assume   the two strings going into one MPPT tracker have to be similar orientated )

Are all four roofs in different orientation ?

Hi Bill

Two of my roofs face SSE and two SW. I do have photos and a plan showing dimensions which I would be happy to send you if you could spare the time to take a look.

Thanks

John  i will have a look and perhaps play with the sma software

I could forward your situation to a German Forum for PV (http://www.photovoltaikforum.com/index.php)

Just to get a wide spectrum of information

I am not the expert on Grid tie  whistlie , but there are lots of installers , PV users and even GTI  manufacturer present

So if you want you can forward your photos and a plan showing dimensions here or PM me and i can give you my email (if file is too big to publish here )
