Hmmm, well you're not the only one that has asked!

In previous businesses I assumed that having a name that says what you do is an advantage eg 'Pony Foods Ltd' or 'Car Radiator Services Ltd' - the problem is 1. people forget the name very easily 2. you get mixed up with 'Pony foodstuffs', 'Vehicle Radiator Services'.....many people try to name their company in this way, so if you are in a popular field, people forget which company is you very easily - and accidentally place orders with your competitors.

So we decided to name the company in a way that it would not clash with any competitors. Having said that, we wanted the company name to have some meaning - so we looked at the latin word for energy 'volta' - but it sounded too electrical. We looked at the Greek 'Navitas' - that actually sounded quite good, but we wanted a one-word name, and Navitas Ltd had already been taken. So we decided to vary the name a little. We felt that 'Navitron' was sufficiently close, and sounded 'technical' in nature - hence we stuck to it.

And, yes, the Navi / Ivan thing does come into it too!
