Congratulations!

That's now a very nice garage roof, enjoy the sharp panels, I think they're great.  All you have to do now is have a cup of tea and sit back and watch the power roll in, a very satisfying feeling.

Very smart. Nice fit to the roof size as well.

Why dint you add two extra panels to fill the roof completely?

Originally I had planned the panels the other around, (portrait style instead of landscape) and there would have been 3 rows of six panels, so thats where the number came from........ got several quotes for this size array and some for a 2.2 -2.5 Kwh .
When I realised that I could have 2 more I had already done the calculations, got the capital sanction from the missus and had the ball already rolling  Cool

Still I could always add them at a later date  whistlie

Congrats
a very nice looking install. The mounting clips are barely visible and very well lined up. A bit larger than mine also. Will be interesting to compare outputs. Mine is 426kWh since 1st April under FiTs and 1053 from the 26th Aug under RoCs.

Great to see you using the Steca Grid 2000+.  We have been installing a few of these now, even using one at my house aswell.  We have ordered the Connect Network card with which we want to be able to display our array performance on our website.

Here is a link to a supplier. Any electrical retail shop should stock this.

It is generally known as Uni Strut. It comes in 3 metre lengths.
This one is stronger. 41 by 41 mm. Works out at  4£ per metre + vat.

The only parts you would need made are the mounting brackets for the frames. Any small engineering firm should be able to make these and get them galvanised.

Hi
I looked into the unistrut at first and found it to be quite heavy. Also if you cut the ends you will have to galvafroid them to stop rust. I found the 25mm S/S box cheaper/no corrosion problems. A bit more drilling, but if the roof is easily accessible no problem.

Agreed Unistrut is chunkey. It would put up with all weather conditions the U.K. can
give it.

Galva froid is good. Made by Fosroc limited.

Can be purchased from local suppliers.

Unistrut comes in a number of box sections:

http://www.unistrut.co.uk/index.php?M1=Support%20Systems&M2=Single%20and%20Double%20Channel

including some 'pre-holed'.

I have no financial involvement.

My Dad was an electrician, and he used it all over the house, garden, and shed,

and so do I.

The mounting system rails etc are by Schuco  ( Aluminium )

Just checked the outputs ....a very sunny April gave us 429 kwhs and a cloudy ( average Huh ) May produced 368 Kwh

danny-solar..... how much are you paying for the Connect Network card and where from ?

unistrut comes in 6 metre lengths also.

shallow, 21mm deep
normal 42mm deep
double 84mm deep

every bracket under the sun.

our contractors use it every day, we insist they use post galvanised.

as Alan says a bit of galvy paint on the ends and an end cap
