Watching this with interest!  Well done on making so many "home-brew" panels.  Have an applaud!

Was the £160 for the roofers "mates rates" or the going rate?

I need to get my panels up on the house roof (rather than laying around the garden or on the shed). I've been up on the roof to fix a new TV aerial to the chimbley but I don't think I can manage the panels - too bulky and heavy to hoik up the ladder and fix by myself.  The little 80W ones are ok but the big 170W ones are a bit of a handful.

At last commissioned and on line at 13:00 16/10/10   extrahappy

Its not Friday BUT I am going for a pint.(or two)

Regards George

Thats taking the pi** no wounder it was £160, wait till you get a leek in your roof and see if your roofers come out and fix it.

Pay cheap pay twice as you said, the prices you put up for labour sound fine to me, I dont think any one is ripping you off with the prices.

Solar dins are not the best inverters ever made but should let you have some fun.

Good luck, hope you dont electrocute yoruself.

There's the basis of a rather nice PV sun tracker, to establish local noon right there!

I think the roofing work is a bit of a joke using a scaffold tower and ladders like that.

I think you have no feeling for the cost of employing roofers and electricians to do a good job that they will come and fix if it brakes.

I believe that the Solardin inverters are not that good but suit someone who wants to play, PM me for information on how to do this.

I still offer you luck.
