I have a 1 kw wind turbine which is going in to a xantraz 60 charge controler and then in to 2 110amp leasure batteries i am currently running it at 12v but can run at 24v. i also have a dump load for extra power. When i run the charge controler at 24v, and the batteries are fully charged it tends to output at 28V. So does this suggest that i could use a gridfit 250?
Then when the batteries loose charge would the gridfit turn of when voltage reduced to bellow 27v?
would the gridfit 250 draw of the power required 6amps or would i need something to reduce the amps down from 220amps? Undecided

the only reasin that i am looking at the gridfix is that they our a lot cheaper than other invertors and i have the batteries already.

thanks for your time

The Gridfit 250 is not really suitable for the UK Grid - see: http://navitron.org.uk/forum/index.php?topic=515.0

Please beware

thanks for your time.
all comments greatly recieved. however as i would be connecting the 250 though a battery bank if the invertor cut out for hours at a time no power would be lost as i would not be wasting the suns valuble rays laugh!!! do you think this is right or should i gust stay well clear???

thanks

Don't waste time on the gridfit , if the grid volts are too high and it drops out with good wind surely you'll overcharge your batteries !
Whats wrong with one of Ivans grid tie inverters ? Surely they would work ? Price seems ok.
