Ive read mixed reviews
Only uses 41 lts of water and .85 Kw but spin speed is slow on cottons wash and the was time/cylce isnt mentioned.

Rated at 5kw wash size but one person said its less in reality.

load is perceived by the user, for instance we are all used to cramming stuff in our washers & live with the results, our Lg is an 8? kg machine which recommneds a 3kg optimum wash.
I've only recently bought a set of luggage scales to weigh & measure according to materials / dirt.

Cold fill only.

therefore no benefit to those with solar water heating.

this is a general deal, 9/10th of the populace only have cold fill option as they are without.
This is a general deal alert, not an exclusive to solar owners only, like I always say, save a bit on "things" help's  pay for your  eventual greening...
one step at a time.
(I personally have a big LG machine with both hot & cold, as forward planning, however others may not be able to depending upon circumstances)

..or plumb the washer into the HW supply. Our BOSCH washer has been happy enough for the last 2 years, although we do have to be a bit carefull we don't accidently wash sensitive clothes at >40C.

I'm not recommending this as a valid approach as it's probably against the warranty or something - do your own research 'n all that.

As far as I know, all new machines are cold fill only

A 5kg drum is tiny once you have used a machine with a big drum! You can buy an 8kg load size drum for not much more. My own machine -Siemens WM14S383GB was just shy over £500 but with a 5 year warranty. It washes big loads that would equal two loads in my older machine.  Looks like you can still buy these machines with the 5 year warranty.

I would also add never buy a machine with any spin speed less than 1400rpm. Water extraction at 1400rpm is an order of magnitude higher when you compare to 1000rpm. That means less energy/time for shorter drying times.  The better machines also sense the load and adjust the water/time for the cycle. Over the lifespan of the machine it does make a difference.
