It doesn't surprise me.

When the world came to an end (no planes flying) I couldn't quite put my finger on it but something was amiss.  Like the noise a clock makes when it stops.  Wasn't it wonderful, if only for a few days.  I normally have 10 - 12 overflying me and they make a noise, a lot of noise, even though at highish altitude.  But truth be told I only noticed them because they weren't there.  Sadly they irritate me now, I hope I get over it.
