I had one of those "had enough of 'em" moments today, this time with bally Google and their overweaning arrogance at assuming the right to have hold of all our data to do as they wish with.......... A while ago I demanded removal of "thieves kitchen" photos of the property on Googlemaps (they removed one, and have left dozens), and am frankly sick and fed up to the back teeth with their bally inane suggestions - do a search on a name - "Fred Bloggs" - and up it poops "do you mean Ferdy Boggins?" - at which point I am reduced to fury...... if I wanted the latter, I'd have searched for it.... add in their monitoring of wifi addresses, and having the temerity to add targeted advertising to everything, I am the Camel's back that has broken - I have ripped Google search from Firefox, and replaced it with "Bing!" as a probably futile gesture........

I do take the point, but as I said, a probably utterly futile gesture, and very much a case of "which IS the lesser of two evils?"......... I'm firmly happy as a Ubuntuist linux
and would cheerfully use a third search engine....... (Ask? Yahoo? - both bloody awful!) facepalm

Oh Martin
Reading your posts is like looking in my own mirror.  I have a dicky ticker. Let me warn you of the dangers of being stressed

I'm working on the "better out than in" theory - far better to give vent rather than bottle it up and blow a gasket! ballspin

I really have tried to de-stress, walk away from hassle, find something gentle and totally zen-like to occupy myself with - emulate Sherlock Holmes in retirement and opt for the obviously non-controversial and peaceful world of beekeeping.......... then discover evil villainy and Mugabe style democracy at the very heart of it - the involvement of multinationals who's behaviour makes the third reich look like benevolent pussycats........... whistlie
I have tried - I really have! surrender

Very trying at times  facepalm

I know what you mean, I now play a game when I get in the car and see how far I can drive before I lose my temper or start shouting obsenities at some old fart who wont go faster than first gear or takes 30 seconds to get the car in gear and let off the handbrake when the lights change.

The chest pains are telling me to chill and remember why I moved here, to be less stressed and get a better quality of life surrounded by the nice people of middle england.

The Principle of Letting Go .......

nothing actually matters that much in the end.

I came across it in a book about Bhuddist thinking and find it easy to do nowadays.

But it wasnt always like this and I used to get into arguments a lot, seeing as I was nearly always right. fight

I occasionally get accused of being a whimp but even this is only a source of amusement now.

Non confrontational, stay below the radar, find another way ......

but Martin and Amy still seem to have a need to confront

I used to be an "angry young man" until a breakdown about 10 years ago taught me the true values. I'm so much more chilled out now.

I just dream about owning something like this..... http://www.pureportugal.co.uk/listman/listings/l0137.html

10 kW hydro potential and 17 acres for £82000..... I spend so much time dreaming on sights like this. Am I burying my head in the sand? May be but it keeps me sane.
