This weekend has been a struggle to shift all the heat: 11 am HWCyl up to 75 deg top and bottom, 5.30pm T/S up to 58deg top, and as I type this at 9pm the bathroom rads and the laundry rad has been on for 4 hours to cool the T/S.

More details on the  CRAC channel.

I came home to warm radiators yesterday afternoon and a 172l cylinder at 90C, the HD seems to be functioning well after the replumb and boiler install.
I was relieved

It is nice to have the extra capacity in this weather.   1100 litres all up to the high 50sC .     At the weekend with extra people staying the output  went up to   37kWh for Saturday.   It is good the way the system is self regulating to a degree.   Once the cylinder is hot enough the temperature  differential is  reduced and output is a lot less.

May was  a very good month.  Average output  16.4 kWh compared to  15.7 in April and  11.2 and 10.1 in the equivalent months in 1999.  Daily requirement is about 14 kWh so  extra heat needed  at the end of the month for a few days.  However there was a peak of 37kwh on 23rd May which is a record that may not be broken for years.

The same electricity produced this May as in 2009.  Solar thermal going to the heat dump now.
