Took a long time but eventually joined the PV club (10/06/10).
Started due to having a leaky roof on my garage so decided to fit a pitched roof and extend the garage (need the space for essential stuff - junk).

Make roof trusses on ground then how to get onto roof took about six attempts. Found they were too heavy to haul upright from a lying position on the roof so eventually got scaffold so I could place one side of the truss upright (tied to scaffold). This was followed by the other side of the truss and then the crossmember was bolted into position. Got to admit it did feel particularly dodgy climbing onto the trusses when there were only a few on!

Moving quickly on the roof was clad with OSB and roofing membrane. The roof was deliberately left un slated so the brackets for the PV could be fitted first. Unfortunately there was about 8 months between sheeting the roof and the brackets being fitted.

Excellent effort, your output looks great, what size system/which inverter have you fitted?

Sorry for the number of individual posts but I couldn't work out how to put the pictures and words in some sequence in one posting! From the clearing of the area at the side of the original garage to now has taken 3 years mainly due to doing a lot of the work myself and the availability of cash. North side of roof still hasn't been slated although my slater has been promising to come next week for the past month. Although the install of the PV was done by an MCS installer I managed to get some hands on experience as the guy that works with him pulled a ligament in his leg just prior to the install date and I was asked if I could give him a hand for a discount on the price.

Yes I am pleased with the system it is 3.87kW peak. It consists of 18 Powerglaz 215W panels and a Sunny Boy SB3800 inverter. Output has been good but still have not had a day of constant sunshine, have had a few of rain though!
