Does anyone know of any companies that provide 0% finance for the installation of Solar PV and other renewable energy?

The government's Pay As You Save scheme is still only in pilot stage running in 6 areas - http://www.energysavingtrust.org.uk/Home-improvements-and-products/Pay-As-You-Save-Pilots  Not 0% but low cost.

At the business/community level the Co-op Bank have a special renewables fund - http://www.co-operativebank.co.uk/servlet/Satellite/1197273362930,CFSweb/Page/CFSCtplStandard  but do not cover PV for some reason.

For businesses the Carbon Trust offer a 0% loan for carbon reduction projects  http://www.carbontrust.co.uk/cut-carbon-reduce-costs/products-services/business-loans/pages/loans.aspx but this doesn't stretch to fund the full capital cost of a PV project, for example.

Co op loans are for dark green projects such as wind or hydro but not light green such as Biomass or Anerobic Digestion.

Carbon Trust is a con as it is only for reduction of energy use not for new generation capacity.

So in a nutshell, no finance is available for the general public.

I've had PV installed under the Pay As You Save scheme, the price was quite expensive. I'm not sure that the scheme will succeed if the same company that did ours (British Gas) or companies like this have the monopoly as suppliers for any future schemes. If they are going to provide low cost finance the choice of installer needs to be free as long as they meet certain criteria.

I also had a quote from British Gas under the PAYS scheme and felt that although it was billed as 0% the quote was significantly more than the 'market rate' and therefore not strictly 0%! (They do a pretty hard sell to) There were a few installers in the PAYS scheme but I think they are assigned geographically so there is no realistic consumer choice, many people who fell in the British Gas patch have commented that they price high, it would be good to hear from anyone who had a quote from one of the other installers. It should not be the installer taking up the cost of the finance, I understood it was government money funding the finance.

So - Isis borrows your roof to instal a system and gets the FIT's payments. You get the electricity free - if, of course, you are using it when it is producing, otherwise it's normal rate.

But if you are receiving the normal (import) bill will you also receive any export payments? And do any energy suppliers still offer a reasonable export rate?

Tried contacting Isis but they are inundated with enquiries and can't get back to me for days.

Anyone know?
