Hi there,Iv,e spent the last few weeks getting quotes for a domestic PV system.I wanted to get as much out of the roof space as possible and to that end I favoured Hybrid units and as many on the roof as poss. As always there appears to be differing views on how close to the roof edge of a gable ended pitched roof the panels should come also down from the ridge and up from the bottom.Apparently it,s about wind speed increasing over the roof edge and also drainage has been mentioned at the bottom. Is there an industry recommended standars for this?

Solaro,

I would not install any panels any closer than 300mm to a gable end, and a rule of thumb of 2 courses of tiles form the ridge tile or the bottom row. dont know if there are any industry standards tho!

not much help i know!

I would want a reasonable access space all round.
