Last week I installed my first PV installation connected to a Soladin 600 inverter. This works very well with one weird exception:
When I switch on certain equipment (a PC on the same group as the Soladin, a brand new LCD TV and a vacuumcleaner both on a different group) the Soladins relais clicks and the Soladin "restarts". It shows no error code on the red flashing leds and no error code via the serial connecting besides restarting. This means that the voltage did not drop below the minimal working point for the inverter (210V). After 3.5 minutes all is normal again.
Does my Soladin 600 have a defect and is too sensitive? Has anyone else seen this problem? Is this "normal" behaviour?

Jos,

I don't have my Soladin 600's now but they did use to do this to me so I suspect it is relatively normal.

I know my SMA SB2500 'surge' when I start something large like an air compressor, I guess it will be the immediate load affecting the voltage/ frequency.

Regards

I have a couple of Windmaster 500's on my turbine - same as Soladin 600 but with different firmware. They occaisionally "trip" - I know this because I hear the turbine speed increase dramatically for a few minutes. They do seem to be quite sensitive to mains disturbances. My SB3000 also trips out occaisionally - usually on grid volts too high - but never both at the same time.

If you have a serial lead for it then you can monitor the error when it trips off - mains volts out of spec, mains freq out of spec etc. Not got around to doing that with mine yet - but will do when I get time.
