From some recent searching for slow punctures in inner tubes I'd say it needs a bit more than 4 psi and it is really difficult to see the difference between a bubble naturally occuring from sploshing around in the bath trying to get a 3ft tube to sink and the ones one is looking for. Will be interested to hear if just dabbing soap on works wel enough to catch the small holes.

A good way to test plumbing is to through a pressure tester. Don’t use air to test the pressure; this will cause a loose of fittings. Use water to test the pressure with the right pressure tester.
