I had a 4300S installed a couple of weeks ago,
I already have a low power webserver running in the loft.
Now with a Male to female RS232 lead, I can use remote desktop to run solar control on the webserver.

Thanks for the info on this thread.

PS:
I've tried a Serial port sniffer to see if I could figure out what needs sending to the inverter and write a Visual Basic program to run automatically every week, extract and format the data in an exel spreadsheet.

But:
There seems to be a load of data going both directions and I've not used VB and serial comms before, so looks rather beyond my skills.

Has anyone else tried this?

thanks
Mark.

I was going to have a go at something similar, but have never gotten around to it. What does a typical conversation look like?

When I select to download the current day data, it chucks out a load off stuff, although Solar control gets nothing, as they day isn't finished yet.

Hi, I have sent for one of these and at just over a tenner with delivery, a will play around with this

http://www.tronisoft.com/prod.php?id=2459

I did take a look at the bluetooth adapter and thought it would work with my iPad but the ipad Bluetooth is for audio only

I also have a GEO monitor but does not work so waiting for a replacement

On a different note, system installed(3.3Kw, Diehl 3100s inverter)  November 2011 and now starting to produce some juice with the improved weather early March
