Billericay, Thanks for the additional info on the ballast weights, I agree, I'm with you on the try it and see technique to prove the theoreticals are right.  At 16st I'm not far off your test loading capacity !

Sandra, you reply is very well timed, thanks for dipping on the thread, it seems as though you have gone through the same process I'm planning with both roof repairs and PV installation, will send you a PM.

I have a partial flat roof so interesting string. I'm finding so much more info on navitron as I have after a year of other sites!!
