Thanks Jonathan. Looking forward to seeing the difference  Smiley

Now I'll have two inverters, one of which has no data logging facility, I was thinking of using an OWL +USB energy monitor to check performance. I'd put the clamp device on the PV output where it enters the consumer unit. Does this sound logical? Anyone done it?

Your generation meter will give the total generated.  The SMA will record its own generation and the difference will be the other inverter.

I have a cheap Owl equivalent free from Npower to give a proxy for instant and daily generation and take weekly generation meter records.  Some get more obsessed with measuring, but is it worth it?
