hi - I have just installed a couple of wind turbines after meticulous financial planning based on the stated FIT payment of approx 24p/unit generated for 20yrs (2 x 11kW turbines) - I duly registered for the FIT and have today received the contract form my electricity company.........agreeing to pay just 9p/unit generated for only 17 yrs!!! - what's going on and what can I do? - in state of panic!

Contact your supplier and tell them they have made a mistake. Be sure to confirm with them the installation and commissioning date for the turbines. Have you already sent them a copy of the invoice from your installer and the MCS certificate?

You are entitled to 24.1p for 20 years - plus 3p for export (unless you opt for 'market rates').

thanks guys - I contacted the supplier and they'd made a mistake - they applied the old ROC transfer rate thinking it was an old turbine of mine - I had notified them at the time this was decommissioned - the new agreement is now in the pipeline.......phew! Andrew
