I have just put together a new PV payback calculator on the website.

http://www.navitron.org.uk/page.php?id=139&catId=65

Please have a go and leave your feedback (constructive preferably).

Its made up of widgets from a couple of other sites, but cuts out a lot of the time wasters and hopefully is an interesting tool that lets people have a go at specing their own property.

Before we simply had a form which people filled in. We then did all the work at our end often spending a great deal of time trying to find people's houses on google earth, sizing the kits and providing costs and payback information only to hear nothing back, or being told it was a fleeting submission and they weren't really interested. We also got spammed a few times.

Anyway if there are any glaring omissions or tweaks you think need making, please reply. I understand that its not that easy to use unless you follow the instructions to the letter.

Many Thanks.

I like it. It is easy and simple to use. My only comment is that the figures it gave for my system are a bit lower than I expected. I have used all the other online calculators I could find on the net and I have also used PVSYST software and they all predict about the same amount of about 2050kWh/pa. Yours predicted 1935kWh/pa so not a huge difference. Was that a deliberate choice to take a more pessamistic approach to the figures than the others?

The actual kWh generated isn't actually shown (unless I missed it!!) and I had to calculate the kWh from the FiT figure. I would like to see the actual kWh figure shown somewhere. Apart from that, nice job.

Dunno the outputs for a south east roof in Burnley seem very optimistic. 2,249kWh from a 2.9 kWp

You should be able to enter the actual cost of a system rather than the fixed estimate.

The kWh per year are shown in the table near the bottom against each year's FiTs income.

It looks good, I liked it. Really straightforward to use too.

We have 6 months of data for our system and the outputs are very close to the estimates
