Author Topic: Aurora software Wobble  (Read 1253 times)

Using the Aurora communicator 2.9.11 software for data logging.

If the inverter exports more than 72 K.W.H in a day the inverter or communicator software wobbles and displays 25 K.W.H as the daily amount produced.

No way of correcting it.
It also increments the date forward by one day.

If you click on System the display is maxed out at 72 K.W.H.
The operation of the inverter is not influenced in any way.

Any one else had this problem ?

Regards

Do you connect using USB or RS485 ?

Have you tried emailing the italian tech guys, I recall email address in the manual for the software.  I found them reasonably responsive and very knowledgable, I just didn't like the answer !

I gave up on using this as USB was not formally supported and the software crashed after the unit went to sleep at night.  Excuse about USB just for comm/maint/firmware/diagnostics..... boooo

Crikey 72 kWh in a day if I got that in a month at the moment I would be happy - tried the software last July/Aug and seemed OK now I just take my readings from the inverter!

Here I use the Isolated B & B Electronics RS422/485 to USB converter.

http://www.bb-elec.com/product_family.asp?FamilyId=355&Trail=45&TrailType=Main

Software wobbled again at exactly 22:00 tonight. Reading for day given as 65.479 kWh
But amount saved in bar graph was 7.8 kWh

Will have words with the Italian gents

Total today will be about 75 kWh

Hi John,
I think with 485 you have to have a resistor added at each end of the network - this may be missing on your adapter. Not sure what value you need - you'll have to google, if no one else here can help.

Sorry John.

I missed the post. I never got round to giving them
a call. Still on the to do one day list.
There is a bug because every time it goes over 75 K.W. in a day
it wobbles.

The B & B

Electronics RS422/485 to USB converter.

http://www.bb-elec.com/product_family.asp?FamilyId=355&Trail=45&TrailType=Main

has been connected for over a year with out problem. Works on any USB port on the
computer with out problem, no changes required. When the inverter powers up
data is logged.

Hello John

The one I used was the USOPTL4

Down load the software from the ( R / H side of the same page )
Click on Driver Disk. Before you mechanically install the USOPTL4

It comes with a 1 metre USB lead. They do a 15 ft cable on the
same page. ( lower L / H side ) if you need it longer.

It is isolated to 2000 volts if the inverter has a bad day.
