I think the home page has a completly different log-in procedure/database to the forum.

So don't login to the main page....only login when you get to the temporary forum page.

-cheers
Pauk

FYI: I struggled with the main page login.... never worked...by the forum login was ok.

Ivan , Martin

The new navitron front page log in for the forum keeps rejecting the password I enter and asks for the password to be retyped.Same password on this screen allows me into the forum. Is this a problem with the system as it is quite annoying. I have left it a while to see if it would be rectified but you may not be aware of the problem. Only happened since the New Navitron front page was introduced.

sorry John, there have been, to be frank, a whole raft of teething problems with the new manifestation of the site - unfortunately, it is in the hands of the server company, I can't go in and "tinker" to fix it - I'd suggest a pragmatic solution is to bookmark the forum, and enter your password direct. I've got it set up to keep me "always logged in", so I don't have to bother to login at all....... Wink

without launching into a diatribe about "web standards" (or more particularly Microsoft's ignoring of them) - websites still tend to behave differently in different browsers - the sign of a good webdesigner is that he recognises that what may work well in one browser, may not work at all in another - the trick is to make it work in damn near everything! Wink
If a website is being written by someone using the unspeakable "Front Page" for instance, it may work in Microsoft browsers, and almost definitely won't in proper ones! whistlie

We are currently receiving a large influx of registrations from spambot gmail accounts - the previous 'invitation only' membership of gmail seems to have been cracked or removed.

Please note that when registering on the Navitron Forum, your chosen username and email address must have some resemblance of meaning.

All usernames and/or email addresses that appear to be a random collection of characters or which have any relation to drugs or importunate acts will be deleted and will not be approved.

Hi Everyone,

New member here, my name is Jim and yes I had a bit of a mare trying to register on this forum but I'm here now, great forum, a plumber friend of mine told me about your site and i can't keep off it!!!

I moved out of my old house 5 days ago on the 23rd and I am homeless at the moment until i move into my new house in the middle of Jan

Just a bit about me, i'm 33 and have a business with my father that installs plastic and stainless steel pipe work for use in treated water industry (Reverse Osmosis, Softners, De-ionisers and Filtration)

I hate paying bills to the gas and elec man and really want to sort out some solar panels with a wood burner and vented heat store so thats why i'm here to get ur advice

Hope everyone had a good christmas

Jim

It should be part of the sign up process to read it ALL & then answer questions on it. With a high pass mark.

     Welcome Jim,
I think you'll go down a treat, i'm pretty sure your experience will be a bonus. I need some advice after the new year in designing a greywater/ rainwater harvesting set-up.

I think so too.

I am after (low / no energy) filtration advice for a borehole water supply system.
