Heh! - i wondered how long it would be afore Ivan scared us all wi his human bean shredder again!
That has to be illegal....... Shocked

Well - the slightly flesh-unfriendly weather has kept much tinkering from happening of late. Warmer today at last though.. Smiley

Some butche... er, carpentry has occurred though.

And then, as if by magic, an ex treacle miner appeared. He instructed me in the noble art of boshing a flap wheel on my teeny grinder even thought the hole in t' middle is way too big.
"But Noel, (for it is he..) it'll go off centre and wibble me stick-like arms clean off won't it!?"

"Nah it'll be fine",  quod he (catch phrase theiving git!). So i generously let him show me how safe it was........   whistlie

Ok - let the lung-clogging dust fly! (Noel's ok coz his full santa face-fur filters particulates down to 5 microns. Awesome!)

Well, i managed to keep it in check a bit while using the planer by cunning application of one of Stoveboys socks. Seen dangling fetchingly from the machines orifice. (ooer, etc..)

He'll never notice, you should see his room!    sh*tfan facepalm crack surrender faint horror

That wheel of Ivan's looks like a 'must have' .  I could even be persuaded to fit a guard if I run one of em.

And Tombo seems to have a clear head for practical solutions.

I once fitted a coarse cutting circular saw blade to a petrol disc cutter, in order to cut lots of gash sheets of melamine chipboard. Fast but not very straight. Just what we wanted. Took some holding back though.

Keep the dust flying Frott and perhaps you should have confirmed that the blur in the action pic is not a result of an out of balance flapwheel, thats a serious workout going on.

good news my Man,  Paul ( camillitech ) suggests a better way -

Quote
As I understand it the fewer blades the better... One (Counterbalanced) blade would be the most efficient way of extracting energy from an air stream... Think Sycamore seed.  It can be done, but as a whole we tend to instinctively miss trust asymmetric designs & I suspect there might be a "Customer acceptance" issue....

One good blade and a concrete block is all you need, so you could use the two planks that one day might be blades, to kindle a small fire in the workshop and get the blood warmed enough to finish the one that sits forlornly on yer workbench .......

Don't you just love asymmetric designs ?
