Adrian, sodium hypochlorite (bleach) would be better. If you add calcium you could end up with limescale.

Interesting link. It turns out to be a dispenser for hydrogen peroxide with a complicated alternative to a device for Transfer of Aqueous Product (TAP).  wackoteapot

Yes... but if you're being green, you look to mitigate your impact... Would be nice to get a supportive reply... rather than a dig...

So why not give a better approach to the problem in question... Rather than just mocking Baz...

On the contrary. I made a humerous comment. Everyone is free to look at the site and make their own evaluation. Why not give us your opinion of the product.

Hydrogen peroxide is a very effective oxidize but is hopeless sanitizer - killing bugs and so you'll need over 65ppm to make up for it - very dear!!

Calcium hypochloride is very effective oxidizer and sanitizer requiring only 1.5 - 2 ppm to get a clean water result, but I would hesitate to use it in areas of hard water, as a previous poster said that it will increase the scaling of pipes and fitting. But if you in a granite rock area then its ideal as it doesn't need cyanuric acid stabilizer to keep it from being burnt off in the same way as sodium hypochloride.

So if you are a limestone area, vis hard water, then stick to sodium hypo as its the cheapest and most effective sanitizer/oxidizer you can get.
