Solar PV microgenerator

WWW
« on: April 12, 2011, 03:32:40 PM »

Hello all,

{I posted this earlier in the Solar PV forum but this is probably a more appropriate place - apologies if you've already read it}

So I got my first bill today from southern electric since the export meter was fitted on 11th March. My DNO is SSE.

What's interesting is that I have 2 MPANS now - I assume one for import and one for export as one has profile class 01 and the other 08. If the article at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meter_Point_Administration_Number is to be believed then 08 is used for export. If this is the case does it mean my export meter has been registered in record time or is there still an OFGEM step? I see no sign of a FITS payment yet.

The old MPAN with profile class 01 is only different in the meter time switch code - the Unique identifier is the same. Is that what I should expect?

What's interesting is that the bill has estimates both for the export and import. They are both way out (and indeed both the same) so I've corrected them. The import figure shows a charge whereas the export figure just shows zero to pay, or be paid.  I assume this is to be expected?

Thanks for sorry for all the questions!

Tony

Hmm - so I get a new bill today.  Only one MPAN (for import) and no mention of exports at all.

I can't help wondering if the suppliers are really set up for export from microgenerators properly yet...
