.....looks like SSE are sticking to their new 65 day rule for payments, think I will also apply a 65 day rule on my next bill.....how much interest must they be making? The energy companies are already making billions as it is, I give up  surrender

Asking about differences between FIT providors I got this today:
Thank you for your email. In response to your query, I can confirm that the rates paid for the Feed in Tariff are set by Ofgem and are therefore identical for all providers.
Billing cycles are quarterly so generation readings are taken at the end of each quarter. Payments are required to be processed with 65 days.

Payment would be by cheque, unless you are on supply with us in which case you could receive payment directly into your bank account.
The first payment would be made at the end of the billing cycle in which your application is registered, this payment is also backdated to the date of your first point of written contact to us.

Kind Regards
xxxxxxxxx

....well folks I categorically know of one person who has already had his payment from the 30th Sep 2011 reads...

Why the hell can they not pay everybody out at a similar time, surely the cheques & envelopes are printed automatically taking instructions from a pc?

Anybody else had a payment yet?

Me to. Received letter from SSE - I was even a bit late sending off the reads this quarter. Didn't send them until the 5th of October so just over 3 weeks this time - they are getting better again.

Posting this as it can be useful feedback on how different providers are managing FiT payments.

Generation reading submitted to EON on 16th Jan
Email received 4th Feb with invoice attached
"Payment by direct bank transfer in next 11 days".

Although next reading isn't until April, they also ask for a reading on 31st March so change in rate can be handled correctly.

Payment received today. i.e. 23 days from date of submission; so not too bad....
