Last year (July/Aug?) I completed my ROO2FIT forms with Npower as my then supplier. Before the registration had been completed I had switched to EDF. Sensing this would test the system I copied in everyone - Ofgem, Npower & EDF with every step of what I was doing.

To date I still have no contract and have had no payment for any generation.

Seems Ofgem didn't act on my change of licensee. EDF let things drift. It's now become a formal complaint with the Ombudsman and EDF are now being quite pro-active. Hoping to receive an EDF contract next week now that Ofgem have corrected things allowng EDF to act.

Hope that doesn't fill you with dread but that's my experience so far - gut feel is that Ofgem is the weak link.

bump,....

does anyone know what the process is for changing energy supplier ?
when a FITs is already setup for solar pv

> fits to continue with old supplier ?

> some process to swap over, automatic or a form

> what is ROO2FIT ?

Sorry, no experience of this, but my assumption is that FITs contract can be independent of supply contract, so you could move but leave your FITs with the original company if you wished. This being the case, it makes sense to do the move in two parts. Supply first, then FITs.

I've read that some people get cheques for FIT's payments if they don't have the import as well. Normally it's paid straight to the bank account.

I'm in the process of moving now and was initially told I had to supply all the ownership details etc again but now I think it's just a transfer as all my details are already on the central register.

I just did a spell check on my reply .......and lost the lot . So you will just have to have to put up with the bad spelling.

To the point , I had Scottish power as my supplier and for fits . Moved to npower for supply in may. Kept scottish as my fits . Just got my first fits payment since the change. I never even told Scottish fits that I was moving , just went through a comparison site as normal for the best supply deal at the time .

I did check the scottish fits contract first and it seem to me to suggest that they are not bias as to whoever your supplier may be.

Hope that helps
