Well, after worrying about SSE's statement about not using export figures for 6-8 months I can happily report that it was all done promptly and correctly.

Our FITS valid date was early Feb 2011 and the export meter was fitted on 11 Mar 2011.

SSE has paid 41.3p for every unit generated, and because I provided a generation meter reading on the day the export meter was fitted, they have correctly paid 3p for each unit generated since 11 Mar and deemed the export between early Feb and 11 Mar as half of generation up to that point and paid 3p/deemed unit also.

I'm quite impressed that they got it right, and paid me (by BACS) in only just over a month from when I submitted the readings.

Similarly experience with a new export meter here...

An export meter was fitted here at the end of February (part way through our second FIT quarter). I didn't provide a generation meter reading on the date of fitting (I wasn't asked, and didn't think of it).

I'd not expected the export meter to be significant yet, but they asked for the 31st March reading along with the generation reading, so I provided one and, low and behold, on the latest statement there were two set of figures for export.

a) Up to the date of install of the export meter they paid "deemed 50% export" on a pro-rata proportion of the quarter's generation up to that date (the statement didn't say they'd done that, but I did the maths and it agreed exactly with the figure they came up with).

b) From the date of install of the export meter they paid for the units reported by the export meter from its install to 31st March.

I was most impressed!

Payment arrived in our account last week.  Grin

really pleased to read this, it gives me hope Cheesy
It's not even so much fear that I won't get my money, but fear that some evil electric company would be banking the free power, and not paying me for it Cheesy

OK... my plot thickens. Over a month from install and I finally get this:

(I have no export meter, just a generation meter)

Hello Mr Harris.

I am currently processing your Feed-inTariff Application Form with regards to your recent Solar Photovoltaicinstallation.  In order for me to fully process your application canyou please provide me with a current meter reading.

I've asked them which meter they mean, and said that I presume I get paid for generation from the moment it was installed, where obviously the generation meter reading was zero. Surely this is the case? I can't believe they can just stall for time and ignore emails and get free power generated by me all that time?
And if that *is* the case, what would stop me claiming the generation meter currently reads zero?

I think you are consulting the wrong thread. Metering of export is a completely different matter to metering of generation for FIT.

If it's a matter of when eligibility for FIT starts, then try this topic:
