Am I right in saying that in general the Mastervolt Soladin 600 seems to be cheaper to buy than the Windmaster 500.?
Correct - don't know why.
As far as I understand the Soladin 600 can be used for either a Windturbine or a PV array .
Not correct- solar version has mppt and will not connect to grid until 45v dc is reached. Max volt input approx 155v dc.
Wind version has adjustable (via dealer-search this forum for details) setpoints along input voltage and pulls current according to your settings. Will start to export at 25v dc if set that low.Max volt input also about 155v dc.Whilst technically a solar mastervolt could work with a wind turbine, there is a loss of output between 24 -45v dc. With mppt fixed and not adjustable it is impossible to match the inverter to the turbine.
I just wonder why a manufacturer would make very similar products when one can do the same thing
at the same price almost. Hmm - pv panels = predictable voltage output, wind turbines = very unpredictable voltage output not the same in my book.
rgds George.
Maybe "brand new prices .....the SL 600 is more than the WM 500.
Maybe mastervolt only manufacture the Soladin 600 now and they ship them as "suitable for Wind or Solar " ??
Thanks George for explaining,I have seen a few seller ads stating "Soladin 600 suitable for Wind and Solar" but not on any of Mastervolt's own web information. That
did make me wonder .Like the clever interpretation of Photo Voltaic as "predictable voltage".
