Yes I do get winter shading. With hindsight the panels should have been mounted "landscape" rather than "portrait". They are split into three with by pass diodes but the splits are parallel to the longer side. With partial shading there would still be an illuminated whole section(s) had they been the other way round.
The aerial - yes it does cause a moving across shadow in the winter. It's coming down in August when DSO happens at the Belmont transmitter - my loft aerial will fully suffice then. I shall have to dream up a new place though for my 2m Amateur Radio antenna.

How many horizontal rails are there on the roof? It looks as though there is one at the bottom and one in the middle giving a large unsupported area at the top.

Yes, most have the upper rail too low, in my opinion. The two offset ones in the middle are alright as they have their own top rail - I had these moved after initial installation when I also had the extra one above fitted. They have, though, survived on two occasions the enormous gales which we had. I think it's all to do with the ease of sliding the tiles up under the upper ones to attach the brackets and then slide the tile down again. As you approach the ridge you can't slide them up. It would have been better had I watched every minute of the installation and yelled "Oy".

James do you really have a Platinum 1900S? Are you sure it is not a 2100S? I am unaware if Dihl Ako make a 1900S (1.9kW). If so it will be a bit underpowered. Standard practice is to have an inverter rated at around 80% of the PV rating so a 2100S would also make more sense from that point of view

Sorry, my mistake. It is indeed a 2100S which is rated at a maximum of 1900W AC output. (And 2100W DC input). I have seen it record a maximum output of 2050W on its "maximum yesterday" but I have seen an instantaneous 2095W. I will see if I can correct this but I may be too late. EDIT: Yes I am too late!

My very recent installation had a similar issue with the mounting rails. The first attempt had the top rail less than half way up the panels on the first attempt. The reason the roofer gave was that he didn't want to disturb the ridge unnecessarily, as it could disrupt the waterproofing. They did put the rail higher in the end; we'll have to see if the roof starts leaking!
