"engine no 8603sr2.22" that should read 8603SRZ.22, which would make it the 8603rd of 1972  Wink pity it's not 'Start O Matic', I may have been tempted  whistlie

ive rechecked the engine no and it is 8603sr2.22, its in more than one place and its not worn.

Apologies Tibster, my mistake, but it is a 1972 and a very fine bit of kit. I cannot believe that you've not sold it yet, this is one of the best 'off grid' generators ever built.

Paul were do you find the serial no details. My Mr Lister is 201-10013 which means nothing to me.

Its a diesel so I presume from the number it is pre 1951. Is there anyway of actually dating the engine as the concrete mixer it is attached to is a winget which I think is pre WW2.

Found another site and it looks like 1934 which would tie in with the concrete mixer.
