Does anyone know where I can get metal conduit cheap? I want to use it to make a dome greenhouse, but everyone seems to be using plastic these days. The Americans seem to be able to source very cheap conduit, but here in the UK, the only ones I can find must be gold-plated, if the price is anything to go by.

Do you have a decent,
(probably independent) electrical wholesaler nearby?

Out of interest what price have you been quoted,
for presumably 3m lengths?

I usually buy from TLC - we don't have anything useful in the way of electrical wholesalers nearby (at least, none that I know of).

TLC's prices are £7.50 for a 3.75m length. One end is oversized, to allow it to be connected to the next piece. I don't need this, but it obviously adds to the price.

A bit cheaper but not much.

Are you near to and friendly with any local farmers using polytunnels, on the farms I've been to they often have a small collection of damaged or crooked polytunnel hoops and straights in a corner of the yard.
The tube is a larger diameter than conduit, but lighter gauge, may be easier to work with...?

Ivan,

MicroDesp has one of those climbing frames up for grabs, there's maybe 40metres of 25mm dia tube and various brackets/bolts/spacers if thats any use to you? If you're interested I can post a piccy.

Thanks very much for the offer, but I think I'll need more than 40metres of pipe, unfortunately. Ideally I want to source something that I can buy more of, if I need to in the future as it's experimental!
