I need a new WC and I want to use my rainwater as efficiently as possible. Has anyone heard of this 4.5/3.0 litre WC and any opinions would be welcome.

I want to make my precious rainwater last as long as possible so would like to fit a 4.5/3.0 litre WC. It seems there are some available in the UK. Can anyone here recommend one?

I have installed two IFO Cera WC's and they have worked without problems but may not be approved for UK use connected to mains water.

I've recently installed an Ideal Standard E7941 Concept back-to-wall WC with the E7855 Arc 4/2.6l cistern.

Here are a few observations that may help other readers:

* It hardly seems to take any water to flush - the float is adjustable so I'm not sure if it's using the full 2.6l on a short flush. A short flush is adequate for #1 business, though sometimes it will leave a sheet or two of paper.
* I'm filling from a loft tank (which will be rainwater) about 3m above, so 0.3bar pressure. Even so I find water comes out of the back of the "whisper valve" filler whereas I'd expected it to come entirely down the bag arrangement. It doesn't take long to fill though. I might try the flow restrictor to make it quieter (even though the instructions say that's requested for a bar or so pressure).
* The water area of the pan is "narrow but deep" if you see what I mean. I've also just received a Profile 21 pan as a replacement for faulty Armitage Shanks Cameo pan & have noticed that in comparison it too has the narrower opening. I assume this must be for efficiency purposes though this may be at the detriment of cleaning.
Note: Armitage Shanks replaced the faulty pan (which had been sitting packaged up on the landing for 5 years waiting for the tuit to arrive!  whistlie ) under their lifetime warranty - very impressive.

Oh & a final aside - "back to the wall" sanitary-ware looks great but is a pig to install! I didn't want a flexi joint on the soil pipe so alignment was quite critical.

I found these prices online: Contour 21 £519.00.  IFO Cera £451.57.  Twyford Refresh back-to-wall 4/2.6L £282.32.
I decided to go for the Twyford WC. It has been in use now for 4 weeks and I am satisfied with it. Although we have had very little rain during this time my 500L of rainwater hasn't run out and I haven't needed to switch to mains.

I can agree with Simon's observations.

When I bought my upstairs bathroom's WC a few years ago I chose an Armitage Shank's Cabria WC because the water area is towards the back with a near vertical back surface which keeps clean. The Twyford Refresh which I bought online without viewing has the water area further forward with a sloping back which has a tendency to be soiled. That's my only criticism. Hope that makes sense.

As Simon said the 2.6L flush is very quick. Earlier this week I visited a relative with a 1970s WC and I was shocked by the enormous amount of water used (must have been 13L, but seemed much more and went on for ages.)
