Hi, apologies if this has been asked for before, but are there any DIY SCADA kits available on the market for idiots like me?

I'm looking for something which will log readings from temperature sensors and valve positions, be able to drive valves and display it all in a nice GUI format with easily adjustable design, setpoints etc, and make the tea.

So the kit would have to include sensors, valves and software.

Thanks

mmm, maybe a little too much to ask for. How about say just a machine which can make tea automatically, at a given time of day?

I've had a bit of a look around, and something like Siemens Logo seems like the kind of thing I could be after - anyone have any thoughts/experience?

People tend yo use one-wire here. SCADA stuff tends to be a bit expensive from the domestic position, another interesting option might be SNMP.

i used a siemens logo a few years ago.. but it certainly didn't have any GUI then...i used it to program a simple maching with several sensors and actuators. iti didn't have any measurment system then, it probably does now.

easy to program and fairly cheap (about £80) IIRC. as I said a few years ago.

Such simplicity makes it easy to hack.

Ask anyone who's been trying to spin some yellow cake recently.

I think the 'lite' version might be called "DaqFactory Express"?

That was the name of some software bundled with a LabJack U3 I got a few years ago.
