I am currently with EoN on their dual fuel Saveonline 3 package for another 3 weeks, and also tied up with EoN for the FiT generation from the array on the roof.

Can anyone confirm if the two are completely independent and I am free to choose who I am with for either, or otherwise - i.e. should (must ?) I stay with EoN (for a minimum period ?) for the solar generation ( I can't see any virtue in changing if all FiTs are the same) but am I free to change who I buy incoming electricity from, or are there any gotchas I should be aware of ?

Thanks,

Nick

Yes they are independent.

Any of the big 6 must supply FITs and so will many others. Terms are all much the same.

Thanks for that - I guessed they must be - just wasn't sure...

CJ - I see you have a 3.92kWp array on a Fronius 3.6 unit - does yours allow higher output on best producing days ?  I have a 3.8 Summy Boy and have never seen more than 3.81, and I get the feeling it is maxxing out - I am sure that fitting a 4.2 would allow a (albeit small) number of extra kWhs a year - it would have been a small sum to have the next size up from the outset, but around ? £1750 to upgrade now ( so not worth it)

I might well upsize if it breaks down outside of warranty with a hefty repair bill..

Thanks,

Nick

The maximum output is between the two, peaked at 3825kW iirc.   A TL5 was quoted, but they fitted a 3.6, (without saying owt). When I queried they said it was more efficient, and it seems that is correct, they also said the price of the two inverters was the same.  They do seem very similar, greater volume on the smaller perhaps.
