i thought the knobs on the bedposts was inspired, however ,,imagine restoring your old bedstead,s posts with 4 of those and then having a wild night of passion to reach the grand finaaallly with 4 loud bangs,2 in the head and 2 up the rear., you would never feel quite the same about treasure hunting ever again, hysteria........we is having terrible trouble with the pic machine.she is about to fire the laptop out the window. Sad

Hmm, if it ain't a Dodo egg, and it now transpires vous avez une connection de Francaise. I will have to change my mind and go with a hydraulic suspension accumulator sphere from a Citroen GS.

Definitive proof I think you will find.

Also, the item at the 9 o'clock position is a fossilised slice of Brie cheese from the iron age. HTH

Thanks, getting closer.
Pin pull is okay, but my bases are serrated edged and more substantial.

I sent your pic to a friend who's into such things. His reply 'It's a German egg grenade' so I googled for German egg grenade images and there seem to be lots of variations....

The  round object looks a bit like a hand warmer, it would need to be filled with something  that stores heat, unlike the lighter fuel types.
