Two questions for anyone who knows

1. Can i use fixed (rigid) copper between the prv and the expansion vessel?

2. the FAQ  says set pressure in the system at +0.3bar above pressure vessel preset. What values should i set, the prv is a 3bar unit

Thanks for many help

Hallo Chris

Yep, solid copper pipery is the best way to connect  almost anything really, If you stick a tyre type pressure gauge on the schrader valve you will see what value the preset is, probably a half to 1 bar or 8-15 psi so set the system pressure .3bar or 5psi above that. The structions that came with the vessel may tell you what pressure your preset is.

You could get all technical and work out the static pressure at the vessel is according to the height of water above it in your specific install, but it is hardly worth the bother unless you have a six storey house.

Check the vessels pressure before you pressure the system.

Guys

thanks for the replies, i will let it cool off tonight and depressurise the solar loop and check the expansion vessel pressure.

The reason for the query re connection was that I have seen a lot connected with flexi and was curious why.

Regards

Chris
