Glad somebody enjoyed it! Not usually one of my favourite genres of music, but she and her band are superb musicians - first came across her when she made an album about 4 years ago with Robert Plant "Raising Sand", which won virtually every award going! Full marks to Youtube, lets hope they do more of this sort of thing "live" - the quality was generally excellent!

If anyone's interested, the same link is pumping out reruns of yesterday's performances at the same festival - boogie with porridge!

That first link isn't Mazzy Star ecogeorge!
Hope Sandoval though - jeepers - "you want to do WHAT to me? - yeah - of course you can..."
Had unsavoury thoughts concerning her for years...where's the "swoon" icon?

The Festival is on again at the same link from (I think) 7.30 (6 hour difference between here and Austin) - but the only act I've heard of are Fleet Foxes which so far have failed to impress me........

I very much enjoy Alison Krauss and Union Station have done for a long time, but I struggled with Alison and Robert Plant's 'raisng sand' all that whining and angst, (Robert not Alison).
IMO Fleet Foxes have made one good Single two years ago.
we have both types of music country and western...................any one recognise the quote?

Yes Blues brothers it is, one of the best movies ever (IMO). My children now in their thirties are all still word perfect, as we saw it so often when they were children. It has everything, Cab Calloway, Lee Hooker, car chases, explosions, fab music, love interest, what is there not to like?

Fantastic film, with so many famous actors hidden away. Plus a teeny tiny role for Spielberg too.
If you are listing great singers from the film, don't forgot the singer voted (from within the industry) the greatest singer of all time. If you can't work it out, may I suggest you'd better think?
Love the film so much I avoided BB2000 for nearly 10 years just in case it sullied the first. Not as good, but actually better than I'd expected. Easily summed up by, doesn't have John Belushi in it.
Sorry to digress.
Martyn.
