Hi,

I have had a number of quotes come through now and was wondering if anyone could take the time to review the systems to decide which way to jump.
Bearing in mind my roof size is 6.8m by 3.4m I have had total differences of opinion from people stating that either it could take a 3kw system or not.

Quote A: £7950 (Local)
2.28kw 12 x Suntech 190 Wp (Still waiting to hear if the 200w Suntech HiPerforma ADE are available at same price)
1 X SMA Sunny Boy 2500HF
Schuco mounting system
A/2: £10750
12 x Sanyo HIT N Series 240Wp Hybrid
1 X SMA Sunny Boy 3000HF
Schuco mounting system

Quote B: £9187.50 (Local)
3kw 12 X Suntech 250w panels "Black Pearl"
1 X SMA Sunny Boy 300TL
K2 Mounting system

Quote C: £9,500 (Local)
2.88kw 12 x Sanyo HIT N Series 240Wp Hybrid
Fronius IG30 Inverter
(Unsure of mounting)

Quote D: £9700, dropped over phone to £8650!! (National)
3kw 12 x Kinve KV250-60M
Kaco 3002 TL Inverter
"Commercial grade" Mounting system
(Also said could get 14 Sanyo 250w panels or roof as 2x7 portrait for £12,700!)

Still waiting for other quotes but from what I gather they will either be far more than these, or install an array of less than these (or both)

Any initial thoughts welcomed, my brain is fried, but the good news is that I think that loan should be readily available to cover up to £9,500 which will make choice about systems rather than what I can afford.

The bigger the better will always be the better value for money and therefore i think i would go for B but from a technical point of view there are installers here who are more knowledgeable.  I presume you have considered 16 panels x 250W = 4K

If its the size then you say 6.8 x 3.4 .The Sanyo panels are 1200 x 800mm and therefore 4x4 is 4.8x3.2 m  but i guess you mean the money.  Be careful if you have ANY shading probs.

Brackwell am confused with your statement?
The only Sanyo panels I have seen are the 250w 'E' panels at 1610 x 861 or the 240w 'N' panels at 1580 x 781

Shading not an issue, SSE facing, other than the size issues it is a fairly standard install

Please post a link to the panels you are detailing if poss please  Smiley

Just an update, signed for option C today, however with him checking efficiency ratings of differing inverters available I have gone for a Eversolar TL2500 inverter (distributed from around here)

Hopefully installation should be 3 weeks or so, so expect a sharp dip in available sunlight when that happens.

Could justify the 3kw Suntech system due to size of panels compared to roof, but of the quotes I got (of which the 3 local companies were all very helpful and the national companies were pretty much a PITA) I felt most comfortable with this, compared to the output I hope to get.

I have the next 25 years to rue my decision if I got it wrong  facepalm
