The below image is of something that has come into my possession - apart from being from the Ark, can anyone identify it? (the usual Google image search has got me nowhere fast)
I'd guess it's probably 60's, has no test cables, but comes to life satisfactorily when plugged in and switched on............ I was wondering if it'd be of any use to squint at inverter outputs (I've been dying to see just how bad "modified squarewave" actually is)

Looks like a homebrew oscilloscope, probably for audio work only. The blue socket appears to be an internal test signal, connect to input and switch on at a distance!

i have a few of those, one exactly like your martin. it was given to me by a friend who builds transmitters and radars. he actually locks on to the transatlantics flights and listenes in on their conversations.i suspect it is used to measure signal strength.he told me the bits and pieces inside would come in handy.they sit above my workbench doing nothing but taking up space, however they dont half impress the visitors who always ask what they are for.to which i reply" they make me look intelligent"

Yup, homebrew oscilloscope. No calibration. Not much use except as biff says.

Had one a little more advanced than this for a while about 30 years ago. Sold it for £15 if I remember right. But now I'd not give it shelf space.

Hic!
