hugh laurie,s "let them talk" came in the post this morning.it is surprisingly good.his style is early ray charles and he sing with feeling and conviction.
i will be taking it with me in the van for a while.the instrumentals are exellent, it is very relaxing, yet humourous and clever.

had the pleasure of watching him jamming in new orleans and getting ready for his gig,tom jones,or sir tom jones turned up to sing as well.
so he is not just fooling with the idea,he might be a late starter but he has no catching up to do,he can jam and perform with the best.he is mighty on the piano and his voice and style grows on you.he really is a serious contender.a pleasent surprise,

In similar "I keep playing the CD 'cos it's so good" vein, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Beth Hart/Joe Bonamassa album "Don't explain" - imho one of the albums of the year - Beth Hart has one of those amazing voices somewhat akin to Janis Joplin (only far better), and Joe Bonamassa's playing is excellent  - together they've made a simply superb and well-balanced album!

Here's a couple of tracks track from it - enjoy!

only one problem with his brilliant strings,i could not play it while driving,i would have the right foot to the metal, its that kind of music but it very relaxing when listened too stationary and yes ,they are good.!very good.

I've learnt a similar lesson with regard to AC/DC and Guns N Roses, revs and fuel consumption are not friends. Still, they're great for getting a bit of DIY done though.
