Over the last few days we've nuked applications for membership from what I can only describe as what I view as borderline scam companies keen to "take their slice" from mug punters looking for a pv installation - they have what look like very "professional" websites, suggest they're very big companies working all round the country, or will offer "contacts" and offer "free consultations", obviously in a hope to gain themselves commission by "selling the leads" - we are doing our utmost to keep the site free of such things, but there is always the chance one may slip through - our advice is to NEVER respond to any private messages from such companies....

As they used to say in Hill Street Blues- "Be careful out there" - there are a lot of sharks keen to cash in on the pv FIT boom.........

I believe this scam featured on BBC Watchdog. They charge a fee to do a survey and put you in touch with a company offering free solar. Then when you hear nothing more they claim the house isn't suitable or that nobody is offering free panels in your area.

NEVER pay an up front fee for a PV "survey".
