Still new to the world of solar so go easy

On a 4Kw system with a day like today (totally overcast with white clouds)
How much is my system likely to be running at? Or would it not even switch on?

As a generalism, 2kWh would be a bad day!

There are lot's of variables, inclination, panel make, actual weather condition etc, the lowest I can see recorded in the last few weeks around mid-day was 36W on the 16th due to heavy rain and overcast.

I'm 4.5KWh so far today and I have some shading issues with a silver birch during these winter months. Lowest I had so far was 2.8KWh

Hi

Take a look here; http://pvoutput.org/list.jsp?id=2476&sid=1872

This shows the output from my system on the Isle of Wight for the last 31 days, if you click on the green dot above any date it will show the output every 5 mins on that day. You will see the 6th Sept was the worst day I have had in over a year, it was heavy rain/mist all day and the max was about 238w.

Hope this helps

Location, orientation and slope all make a difference.

I had a 0.4kWh day last week (not everywhere in the UK shared in last week's sunshine).

I've a similar sized system to the O/P and as of now (3.30pm) there's 500wh being produced and a total of 8.82kwh for the day so far.
As pointed out it really depends on local conditions/orientation and degree of slope on the panels. Oh and shading of course

I'm in Essex, 40 degree roof slightly south of west, soon to be a 3.92Kw system.

If I get 500W at any 1 time on an overcast day that's more than I thought I'd get.

3.96kW system, south facing at 40 degrees with no shading and I generated only 3kWh today, 4kWh yesterday and about .5kWh on Sunday which was the lowest to date.  It is very cloudy here at the moment.
In contrast, one day last week when it was very sunny we did 21kWh!
