We have been offered  Sanyo HIT 240W HDE4 PV Panel or Sanyo HIT N Series PV Panel 240W
What is the difference apart from size. Is one cheaper or better than the other
TIA

The HDE4 are the older version modules, they look very different than the N series, the N series to be honest look like a standard mono module with a black frame, the N series have quite a bit better efficiency however, I have fitted many of both, the HDE4 I thought is now obsolete, according to PVSOL, however I did fit some recently as one wholesaler had 900 in stock still, they are a fair bit cheaper, if you can get hold of them.

I went for 12 NSE10 240w due to the reduced size as the 250w would have been very tight on my roof.

I like how mine look on there, not like they are squashed in and in the end the difference between the two didn't affect the output greatly from the figures I got.

I think if you are looking for a pre Dec install though it will be what your installer can get hold of.

Just posting here to bring this thread up to the top of the board again.
I'm sure that I had read the earlier posts before, but only prior to GavinA's post #7 and the following replies.
More's the pity, I now find.
But I believe that, hopefully, I will be able to show that the responsibility for not alerting me to this *fundamental* difference before delivering to my house (on 8 December) 16 x Sanyo HIT-H250E01 panels instead of 17 x Sanyo HIT-N235SE10 panels.
I'm also very surprised that Sanyo themselves haven't realised the minefield they lay themselves open to by not putting this fact on the data sheets that they make available for consumer / end-user download.  Apparently it's all in the Installation Manual, but you can't get a copy of that off the Sanyo Solar website unless you are an Installer.
