Do the regulations allow you to register different systems on the same site with different FiT suppliers??  My original system is 18 months old (3.15kWpk) and I am registered with SSE for FiTs. I have just had another system installed, (3.67kWpk) - separate supply and MPAN - and want to register with a different supplier. Is this allowed??

of course, it's a seperate system. The fact you're asking the question though does raise certain questions about the separateness of the 2 systems though tbh...

They are separate systems on separate supplies ( 2 different MPANS on different phases) on separate buildings - both at the same postal address. The electricity supplies are in different names. Scottish Power have phoned today to ask why I have applied to the for FiT payments as I appear to be registered elsewhere!!!!  I didn't take the call as I was out but I will call them tomorrow to see what the problem is. I just had a thought that maybe all systems at one postal address had to be registered with the same supplier for whatever reason.

You should be alright.
One of my customers has two systems at the same postcode, but 2 addresses: Nosuch Farm and Nosuch Farm Lodge, with different MPANs.  It did take a few phone calls for the customer to clarify with the FIT supplier that they were 2 separate installations both getting the <4kW FIT rate.

Thanks, I'll speak to the supplier tomorrow and report back on what they say. I am prepared to accept the 4 to 10kW rate on the second system - in fact I assumed that was what I would get.

Be careful. MPAN is not the only criteria for determining whether a site is singular or plural. It is just one of them.

If there is one owner with one postal address then it is likely to be treated as a single site - irrespective of how many phases are involved.

There is also a deadline of 18th October for the way that extensions to existing systems are treated (which this would be if they were to be accepted as a single site) - that's today.

And why would you want to register them with separate suppliers?

Not worried about being treated as same site, kind of assumed it would be.

Reason for different FiT supplier? Two reasons, 1. both supplies are with different suppliers (for historical (hysterical) reasons. & 2. I like to "play" the system and SSE are very slow with payments and I though I would try another FiT supplier to see if they were better. (all eggs in one basket etc.)

thanks
