I can't post s link as I am on my phone at work.

DECC have announced the new ROC banding.

Most of the new banding makes sense based on the costs.

Well it looks like the 'we're really into renewables look at the levels of support we're proposing' actually translate to continuation of existing support or in some cases a reduction of support.

I can't quite work out where ROCs come in - I thought all of this was replaced with FITs - or are they still offering ROCs for technologies like hydro (where MCS costs make it unecomonical for manufacturers to register products)

I get ROCs for my CHP. Unfortunately I can not get the export rate as non of the companies are geared up for anything bar fits for consumers.

ROCs are still available for all non-FiTs renewable technologies, and owners of >50kW FiTs systems can opt for ROCs instead of FiTs although there is no real financial incentive to do so.  Systems over 5MW can only register for ROCs.

So  does that mean if you fit non-MCS equipment (eg water turbines or non-MCS solar PV) you can still opt for ROCs and stay outside the MCS system altogether? I thought that option closed in September 2011

No, what I mean is if you fit PV, wind, hydro, AD or CHP of the appropriate size then FiTs is the only option.

If you use a different technology or go over 50kW then you can opt for ROCs if there is a category for it.

Anything over 50kW is outside MCS anyway, even if you opt for FiTs.
