Anybody know where I could obtain high resolution satellite images for a specific point in the UK for a period of 20 consecutive days. Resolution must be down to a matter of metres.   Specific time is 17th Jan onwards near Blackpool airport.

is the first one that comes to my mind.

However, I think you'd be lucky. Firstly, it'll probably be cloudy, of course. Secondly, the chances of the satellites' orbits being right to get images every day seems unlikely. From

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPOT_%28satellite%29

Quote
The SPOT orbit is polar, circular, sun-synchronous, and phased. The inclination of the orbital plane combined with the rotation of the Earth around the polar axis allows the satellite to fly over any point on Earth within 26 days.

Blackpool's just the sort of airport where people operate aerial photography aircraft. Might be worth investigating if there's anybody who can take some pictures for you as part of other operations.

Find someone with an ultralight thats how they photograph the houses here. Satellite imagery is only taken at random over years unless of course you work for the CIA. onpatrol

So, to summarise, you'd like repetitive, military grade, observation images of a British Airport, or should that be, 'wink' near an airport 'wink'.

I wonder how this is going to turn out. Should I set the V+ to record Crimewatch now, or wait for season 9 of 24.

Thanks for the replies guys they have been a great help and I think I can get the images I require.  I know it all sounds a bit cloak and dagger  but I did a job processing logs near Blackpool airport at the start of the year and the guy has refused to pay. He is trying to prove his case by selective photography of only part of the site so an independent overall picture is required to prove the amount of work done.

Drones are used in some places to check forestry for  diseases and poor growth.

balloons or kites are a bit easier to use as a photography platform, but I think there is a restriction on flying them near airports.

The Parrot AR drone is probably a first of a  new home drone type.   It has an onboard computer  to simplify control and an Iphone/Pad  or Android device is needed to direct it and  pick up the images.  The present model has limited  range and has two low resolution cameras   but this is likely to change in future models.

I do elevated photography from a 72 foot high mast. Depending on the situation you want there may be someone near you that could do it.
