Hi Clockman,
You may want to add the following countries to your, 'to be avoided' list
Austria, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Luxembourg, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Switzerland, Latvia, Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Poland, Greece, and Singapore
You may notice that your current country of domicile practices presumed consent.
Best not go on Holiday there either.

Yes Richard Owen, but in those countries and here in France you have to have your identity card/ passport on you at all times, its the law, and therefore you have your opt out wishes.
UK and Wales there is no such law to carry such identity.

In the Future, ....So you are not well, have to go into a Welsh Hospital you start to recover from food poisoning or whatever, but your still young, (under 35), but the hospital find out through your records that you have a rare blood type and your bits are a fantastic match for the Local Welsh president Big wig. Business is business.
Up until the late 1970's several Spanish doctors were signing death certificates for baby's then handing the baby to childless couples "because they were good church goers and more deserving". And when questioned the Doctors just said the original mothers were underserving to have a baby. I think the Spanish government are still in denial but it seems there are 10's of thousands that have had this so called Doctors moral treatment.
NO YOU will not catch me in Wales after my hols in summer 2012.
"But he died of a complication" yea right. I am to old but there not harvesting my kids "bits" until my kids can make there own decisions.
Why do perfectly rational people get hysterical about the most mundane subjects. Reminds me of NIMBY's and wind turbines, or idiots and nuclear.

Sorry, I just have strong opinions.
I think it comes from spending lots of time scavenging bits from scrap yards to keep my car alive. This is the human version.

I think you'll be safe. After all, we'll still need to identify you, to check that you live in Wales, and also that you haven't opted out. Nicking bits of unidentified corpses isn't the done thing, even in Wales! However, having previously worked for 14 years for the Welsh Assembly Government, and its predecessor, the Welsh Office, I have a lot of experience regarding Welsh central government admin - you might want to get a 'oh no you don't' tattoo, just in case. Wifey told me of an elderly woman, who was recently featured on an episode of LA Ink, or something like that. She got 'DNR' tattooed across her chest, and tattooed on her back, what else, 'see other side'. Mart.

Baz, Live near a working coal plant, downwind of the stack and be exposed to polonium 210 and other natural radioactive isotopes from the plume.
The other option is better they are sited in the country, generally a cleaner environment.
Clockman, You mention the 3 at Dunkerque would happened to the other 3?? There were 6 when I drove passed heading upto Adinkerque. The surroundings were pretty grim, (La synthe.)
I thought Normandy had Paluel and Penly on the coast. Then you have la Hague to the west.

Clockman,
They say the Aircraft carrier rock will return in 2029, passing 18000 miles from the earth. That is seriously close. Better buy a good MSA hard hat! I hope they account for the odd leap second otherwise with the earth moving on its solar orbit round the sun, our giant cue ball (conker) might be in its way and pocket it out towards Jupiters pocket!
Does Sally still sail to Dunkirk? Best floodlit ferry terminal I have ever sailed to. Must be trying to load level the French Grid.

Organ donation is a tricky subject. When you see the efforts that some people have received - someone I know received over 40pints of blood after being airlifted to hospital following a car crash. His chances of survival were estimated as being extremely low, but he was lucky. I always wondered, as he was young and healthy, if he was an organ donor, would doctors be tempted not to try too hard, as failure reaps high rewards?
Paying for organs would certainly result in more being available. But it leads to exploitation of the vulnerable and poor. There have been some reports people being murdered in order to sell their organs, and of people having both kidneys or essential organs removed in exchange for relatively small sums of money - either because they have been cheated, or because their education is such that they do not realise the consequences

I always wondered, as he was young and healthy, if he was an organ donor, would doctors be tempted not to try too hard, as failure reaps high rewards? I suppose my view is that if they want them that badly, who's really going to know wether or not your kidneys/liver/heart ect are still inside? They could letn you die and harvest you without consent, it can hardly be worse than letting you die and harvesting you with consent. Paying for organs would certainly result in more being available. But it leads to exploitation of the vulnerable and poor. There have been some reports people being murdered in order to sell their organs, and of people having both kidneys or essential organs removed in exchange for relatively small sums of money - either because they have been cheated, or because their education is such that they do not realise the consequences Possible I suppose, but with an NHS monopoly on organ transfers, I dont see how it creates a bigger risk than already exists. The poor would be more likely to sell I suppose, £10,000 wouldnt be "life changing" for me, be very nice of course, but if some rich dude wanted to pay £100,000 for half my liver, sign me up.
