OK, so Navitron have a new whizzy controller (which I must say looks really good), but it is not clear in the instructions on the website if it is possible to use it for data logging. Huh
There is mention of USB and other ports included or as a later option, but it's not clear what is in the box now.  What is offered as standard and can that be plugged into a PC  for monitoring purposes??  Undecided
Also, can I use my existing Resol temperature sensors with it that I have installed with my BS3?

I'm tempted to buy one just to play with it!

Just like the resol controller, I don't think there is any way of data-logging with the standard unit. However, there is an enhanced 'ethernet' coms unit, which is more expensive, but allows direct communication with PC, datalogger or webpage. This is a very new development.

Ivan

Thanks for the reply.  Is that the Resol ES or do you mean a new variant of the TDC3?

Thanks

Oscar

P.S.It'd be good to see more information about the controllers you have on offer on your website Smiley

The Resol BS3 and BS4 do NOT have data logging facility. But we have supplied several people with the BS PLUS which is the same controller with a vbus data connection facility. The ES and M have data connections as standard, I believe.

The Navitron TDC3 is NOT a resol unit. The TDC3 does not have a data connection, but there is an upgraded (and more expensive) version - I think we should call it the TDC3+(!) which has an ethernet communication port.

I don't know a lot about communications protocols (Wyleu, Phil, paul_boats etc will be able to shed more light on this), but I would think that ethernet has some distinct advantages (eg if you want to publish to a webpage using the sort of PIC webserver that these guys are experimenting with).

Yes, I agree, we should add more info on the webpage about the solar controllers - I will try to do this over the next few weeks.
