You mean this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_Catalyzer

The whole "development" has been clouded in unnecessary secrecy, an apparent lack of understanding why it "works", waste products that don't appear to be isotopically correct for any form of nuclear reaction, non-peer reviewed self-published papers and theatrics.

Would be fantastic if it is even a tenth of a way to being true, but it looks so much like a scam, except for the fact that is has the involvement of some previously reputable scientists. It sertainly seemed strange that the recently "demo'd" 470kW plant needed a 470kW diesel generator connected all the time. Maybe its a big practical joke?

The picture is almost certainly just a photoshop mock-up from someone's fevered imagination.

Whale oil beef hooked, thats a brilliant link there Tombo, haven't had such a good larf in ages.

The guy can design a cold fusion device, but he "needs help" to design the box to put it in hysteria hysteria hysteria

Mind you I have been working on my "cold blast furnace" for a while but I'm stumped for the pigs faint all the ones I've bought are made of bacon, Huh not Iron facepalm facepalm Huh??

Maybe the whole 'box design' bit is just a pun, playing on the old statement, that; creating nuclear fussion, is like putting the sun in a box, and the difficult bit is building the box.

It does currently seem very unlikely that the E-cat does what is claimed, as it defies much of what we know about physics, and seems far too good to be true. On the other hand people have actually paid real money for an E-cat power station, so either they've been taken in, or it really does produce useful power. Now they own their own, it should be pretty easy for them to tell how well it works.

A scam like this can only be kept up for so long, so I think we'll find out one way or another soon enough. Something that small that runs off nickel and hydrogen without detectable radiation that produces useful power would be pretty radical.

One can understand to some degree a reticence to reveal the important details until patents are awarded, but of course this is also what you'd do if you had something to hide. We shall see...

There's absolutely no reason to be coy about patent detail from the moment the patent is submitted. Anyone who says they can't say until the patent has been issued has something to hide.
