 Huh

Hello

I am after a bit of help/advice. I already have a 4kW photovoltaic system on my roof and next year am undertaking a new extension to my house and wanted to take the opportunity to do some more energy saving work.

My plan is to fit some solar hot water panels on my roof, to fit 4-5 wood burning stoves of which two will have back boilers, join these all to a conventional system (radiators and gas boiler) and have a thermal store that can soak up the energy and then give it out as needed for radiators and hot water requirements - gas will be a back-up when the other sources can't do the job!

I have spoken to a few local companies but nobody seems to know how or indeed want to do this, or even if it can be done. They either fit stoves or they do heat stores or they do solar hot water.

Does anyone on the forum know of a company either in Gloucestershire or not too far (I am near Cheltenham) who would be expert enough to take this job on? If you do please let me know. If I have posted this one incorrectly my apologies but I can't see where else to ask.

Many thanks

Mark

I too wanted to achive similar to yourself.

Could not locate anyone willing to undertake this type of work and with timescales as they were with other renovations scheduled plumped for PV, ASHP and a stand alone stove. All separate systems doing there own thing... It would have been nice to have a boiler stove, solar thermal and perhaps god forbid the existing LPG for emergency use... Ho hum...

Sorry no help at all but do understand what you are going through...

I recently had an instalation my My Solar  who are birmingham based, they were all real plumbers, might find them under blue flame energy. I have no connection with the company.  They combined my Rayburn with panels on the roof a new tank and pressurised hot water system it did not seem to phase them at all.
